Example Of Card Line-up In Splinterlands

Now, that we’ve already known about Splinterlands card stats, roles, and special abilities, let me show you how to create a basic card duel line-up.

Based on the video, after entering the match, the first thing that I need to notice is the mana cap, since the monster that I will be using will depend on the mana cap in every match.

Since there is only a 19 mana cap in this match, my best option is to use Death elements, I don’t have a premium card, and the only cards that I can use are those free cards owned by Splinterlands, for a 19 mana cap Death elements are our best choice since some of its monsters require just a small amount of mana.

The Curse Slime ball, for example, only requires 1 mana, but it only has 1 HP, and since Curse Slime balls are not good for the offense we can just use it as a decoy to absorb some damage from the enemy.

Then for the tank, I choose Hunted Spirit, because it has 7 HP and a healing ability, which is a good choice for absorbing some damage from our opponent’s cards.

Then for an offense, I preferred two sneak monsters, the Skeleton Assassin, and the Undead Badger, it has decent damage and a little mana cost.

But like some other opportunity and sneak monster those two are too squishy or low HP, and since I still have 6 mana left, I also choose Twisted Jester for a long-range attack, and since Twister Jester has a decent amount of HP I place it on our last lane to absorb some damage from an enemy sneak monster.

Then as you can see from the video, we have still one mana left so I choose Curse Slimeball since it has 1 mana cost and place it next to our Tank, just in case our opponent uses the opportunity monster, and our Slimeball will serve as a decoy and absorb some damage from our opponents.

That’s it for our basic line-up, you just need to familiarize every monster’s ability to use its ability based on your strategy.

How to Earn In Splinterlands?

How to earn might be the common question before playing this Card NFT game Splinterlands, did you know that there are few options to earn in Splinterlands? but the sad part is that you need a piece of better luck and spend a little bit more money to earn in this game.

Yup, you read it right You need to spend a little more or wait for your luck to strike first before you can earn in this game, Do you want to know more? make sure to read this article carefully since I will be discussing every detail on how to earn in this game NFT game Splinterlands.

DEC

Splinterlands DEC

One way of earning money in Splinterland is by acquiring DEC or Dark Energy Crystals, and there are various ways of earning DEC in the game.

At the beginning of this article, I mentioned this DEC, and I promise that I will explain what it is.

Well DEC or Dark Energy Crystal is our secondary token in this game, Let me ask you a question, Have you heard about the SLP of Axie Infinity? if you are familiar with Axie SLP, the DEC in Splinterlands almost works the same way as the SLP of Axie Infinity.

DEC is an SLP equivalent in Splinterland, and you can use DEC and sync it on your wallet for instant cash, or use DEC to purchase your NFT Splinterland cards, not those free playable cards, that everyone can use, but instead I’m talking about those NFT cards that you can buy in the market place.

Those cards compared to the free cards, are much stronger and have more special abilities that can be leveled up or upgraded, You can buy special cards using DEC or Dark Energy Crystals.

Now, you might be wondering, how can I earn those DECs in the first place?

DEC can be earned every time you win in a rank match After you purchase a Summoners Spellbook you can unlock the chance of earning DEC for every time you win, just win every match and it’s easy money, Sounds pretty cool right? well sorry to disappoint you but it is not always the case.

When DEC was first released in Splinterlands it was much easier to earn money in this game, you just needed to win every match and earn DEC, but after the October update in Splinterlands, earning DEC became a nightmare for new players, especially those whose expecting that they only need an investment of $10 to earn money in this game.

Yup, I know maybe you are now shocked because you might hear and read on social media and some YouTube channels that you only need a $10 investment in this game to earn money, maybe in the early days of the game yeah, but now? sorry, it becomes much tougher to earn money if you only want to invest $10.

The update on October 2021, requires players in the game to reach at least bronze two to start earning DEC.

But the real problem is the requirements, to reach bronze two players must need to reach at least 1000 power, and why is it a problem for newbies? well to increase your power in Splinterlands, you need first to own some cards, the more and the rarest card that you own the more it will increase your power.

The sad thing is this, some players might be expecting that they only need to invest at least $10, but to reach 1000 power you might need at least 2 or 3 Gold Foil cards, and it is a pain for new players that don’t want to spend more since a gold foil card is rare and it’s expensive to buy or even rent.

Yep, you read it right, you can rent a card in this game, and what do you need to rent a card? Surprise !! you will still need DEC to rent a card, so in other words, you will need to buy DEC using real money and use the DEC to purchase or rent a card, if you are expecting to invest only $10 to earn, well you will need to pull some extra money on your wallet to start earning.

Is there any way to earn to reach at least 1000 power in Splinterland without spending more than $10?

There is, but it will take a long process to achieve, As I’ve said power is based on the cards that you own or rent, the rarest the card the more power it will give.

In order to get 1000 power without renting or buying some cards, you need to reach at least bronze three and wait for the season to end.

Each season in Splinterlands may end between 12 to 16 days and every season, players will get some rewards based on their rankings.

The lowest rank that has a reward is bronze three, and since we don’t have enough power to climb to bronze two, we need to stay on bronze three and wait for the seasons to end to get 5 loot chests as a reward.

Opening loot chest rewards will give you a chance to obtain cards for free, and based on your luck you might acquire some rare cards that can dramatically increase your power.

But do not expect too much since it has a little chance to get a rare card on a five-loot chest, but who knows maybe you will be lucky enough and obtain even a gold foil card, best of luck to you.

Earn Money in Splinterlands by Selling Cards

splinterlands store

As I’ve mentioned before cards on Splinterlands can be bought with real money, and selling these NFT cards can give you a decent amount of income and some are even higher.

If you go to Splinterlands marketplace, you will be amazed at the price of each card, based on their rarity, some even reach a price of $2,000,000 and those kinds of cards are super rare, but honestly, it is also difficult to find a buyer for those price range, but if sold successfully it was a huge amount of money !!.

How do get cards that can be sold on the market?

I mentioned a while ago that there is a chance to obtain some cards and rare cards through the loot chest as a reward at every season end in Splinterlands, the higher your ranking the more loot chest can be obtained.

Another way to obtain cards is by purchasing some card packs in the store, You can keep an eye out if some available untamed packs can be bought with DEC.

Those cards that can be obtained from packs are also random, and you might get some rare cards if you are lucky and sell them on Splinterland Marketplace for a decent to a huge amount of money.

Place some of your cards for Rent on the marketplace

I also mentioned that you can rent some Splinterland cards to increase your power, and renting cards in this game is common since the higher the ranking the more power that is needed to unlock some higher rank, and buying some cards is expensive that’s why renting are good option.

If you have a lot of good stats and rare cards, you can place some of your cards in the marketplace for other players to rent, Those will give you daily income especially if your cards are valuable and many players want to rent some of your cards, it will be a good business in the game.

Win Splinterlands Tournaments

splinterlands tournaments

Aside from rank battles that might allow you to earn some DEC, there are also some tournaments in which you can participate in the game.

Those tournaments are hosted by our co-players or guild or some third party, rewards may vary every tournament, some are DEC and some are SPS, curious about what is SPS? Just keep reading and I will explain SPS in the next paragraph.

Note: Before entering tournaments, carefully examine first the details of the tournaments, like rules, and entry costs, There are entry costs in every tournament, and if you are lucky you may find those tournaments that are newbie-friendly with very low entry costs but high rewards.

SPS Drops

splinterlands sps drops

I’ve already mentioned SPS, and as promised I will explain it to you.
SPS or Splintershards is the newest cryptocurrency governance token in the game, if DEC is the secondary token, the SPS will be the primary token in the game.

Splinterland teams have a lot of plans for this token in the future, and its value will surely increase in the future even this day of writing SPS has a much higher value than DEC.

In fact, you can now convert your SPS to DEC and convert DEC into cash if you want.

How to earn SPS? For now, you can earn SPS by winning tournaments, since some tournaments give SPS a prize reward, you can also earn SPS by airdrops.

SPS airdrops amount is based and depends on in-game assets that players have, like the amount of DEC it has, collection power, card packs, etc, it simply means that the more assets you have the more SPS you can claim in every airdrop.

Bottom Line
