Covid19 (Coronavirus 2019)
On Dec 30, 2019, a Chinese doctor named Li Wenliang try to warn most of his fellow doctors about the mysterious disease that resembles like SARs spread in Wuhan China and Li also warn them about the possible outbreak of this diseases, after that day the government of Wuhan accused Li of making a false statement and disturbing the public order.
On Jan 7, 2020, the diseased that Li mention is identified by the Chinese government and named 2019-nCoV and that same day on January 7th of 2020 Dr. Li Wenliang Died after getting infected by the diseased.
The 2019-nCov suspected that it was first to start at the wet market in Wuhan that sells seafood and live animals and the virus is being said to transfer from animals to person and then person to person.
On January 13, 2020, the virus began spreading in some other country like Thailand the first confirmed cases of coronavirus outside China, then followed by the United States, Nepal, France, Australia, Malaysia, and some other country.

As a normal citizen, what should we do on preventing Covid19? Here are some simple tips on how to prevent Covid 19.
1. Wear a face mask
According to WHO wearing a facemask can help in preventing or spreading the Coronavirus or Covid 19 if it is used properly.
How to used facemask properly (Credits to WHO)
- Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
- Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.
- Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is necessary to sing happy birthday while washing hands as this will serve as a timer for how long the hand wash should last, you can follow the image below on how you should wash your hands properly.
3. Stay at Home
Staying at home can reduce the number of infections of Covid 19 because some of the potentially contaminated areas are those with a lot of people and we don’t know who is infected and to reduce the risk always stay at home if necessary.
4. Avoid Social Contact
Avoiding social contact is advised to prevent Covid 19, the virus can spread through sneezing, coughing or simply hand to hand contact from the infected person. It is also advisable that always maintain a 1-meter radius social distance to prevent being infected.
5. Avoid Crowded Places
The Probability of being infected is very high in crowded places like Malls, cinemas, Bars or any area with a large number of people, if unavoidable like when buying some foods or grocery used a facemask, wash hand with soap and water or use an alcohol-based product to disinfect your hands.
Here are the symptoms of Covid 19
As the Covid 19 continues to bring terror, Scientists around the world are on a race to create a vaccine or medicine for the treatment of Covid 19
Drug companies are continuous to find treatment for Coronavirus or Covid 19 and among the Drugmakers, three companies are now leading, and they are now on their way of proving the efficacy of their drugs or vaccines.
Company: Gilead Science Inc.
Gilead or Gilead Science Inc. is an American biotech company that research and develop commercial drugs, their expertise on antiviral is our hope to control or stop the Covid 19, some of their success is the Truvada the only drug that is approved in prevention or treatment of HIV and Sovaldi a drug that threat Hepatitis-C. Now they have created the drug that can have the possibility to threaten the novel coronavirus or Covid 19 called Remdesivir.
Remdisivir (formerly GS-5734) is a drug that is used for the treatment of Ebola virus but failed and some study shows that Remdisivir has the potentials for the treatment of Covid 19 and among of the other candidates the Remdisivir is the most promising, and it is already been used for Human trials in Wuhan, it also been used for the Covid 19 patients in the U.S and the result is impressive, it is reported that the patient is given Remdisivir evening in day 7 and the patient started to feel better the next day.
The Remdisivir might be doing great results on some of its clinical trials, but it still needed to complete and passed all trials needed before it will be approved and recognized as a treatment for Covid 19.
Company: Moderna Inc.
Moderna is a company that uses the mRNA method, instead of working for a virus itself, they design mRNA using the sequence of the virus.
On Jan 11, 2020, when the Chinese scientist successfully decoded and share the genetic sequence of the Coronavirus and Moderna used that information to finalized the sequence for the vaccine called “mRNA-1273” and in Jan 13, 2020, they work with National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to run a Phase 1 study of the mRNA-1273.
On March 4, 2020, the U.s Food and Drug Administration allowed the mRNA-1273 to begin a clinical trial. mRNA-1273 are one of the cores of our hopes to treat Covid 19, but they are only in there Phase 1 and it has been said that the entire process will take up at least a year or a year and a half.
How this Global pandemic will end is still uncertain but the Drug like Remdisivir by Gilead and mRNA=1273 of Moderna and other drugmakers around the globe that’s on a hunt to find a treatment of this global pandemic, and the governments that work tirelessly to find a solution and to contain this disease is our only hope to end this global pandemic named “Covid 19”.
