One surprising feature that Squirrly SEO brings is its keyword features, this kind of feature is rare for an SEO plugin. I’ve used all popular SEO plugins for years in the past but Squirly SEO is the only one that provides actual keyword research tools.
What’s even better is that Squirrly SEO keyword research will be based on your website authority, once you enter a seed keyword, it will suggest a bunch of keywords that your site has the potential to rank.
It will show you if your site has a high, decent, modest, or low chance to rank certain keywords, it is useful for you to avoid keywords that have a low chance to rank since you might just be wasting your effort on it.
Though Squirrly SEO keyword functionality is useful, keep in mind that it doesnt have much data like you can get from more premium tools like Semrush, Ahref, or even Spyfu, but for starters, I find the Squirrly SEO keyword research tool to be useful, especially if you’re starting to become a publisher and has still a limited budget to buy more premium tools it’s a great alternative.
SEO Automation
This SEO tool also offers a feature called SEO automation. It works as it optimizes your title and meta description automatically using what they call patterns, so you will not need to optimize your title and meta description manually.
All you need to do is write the content, and the Squirrly SEO will create and optimize a meta description based on your content.
These features are good, but I find it just the same with Rankmath since it also generates meta description and title automatically; when you’re from Yoast and transfer to Squirrly SEO, you will find a big difference since Yoast doesn’t generate meta description on its own.
Live Assistant
Live assistant is typically a writing assistant that you can find in most SEO plugins; the only difference is the live assistant has more features; it’s not just optimized for search engines but also for humans.
It also tells if your content is human-friendly, but for me, it lacks a hint on how to make the content human-friendly; it just said that the content must be clear, with rich vocabulary, an introduction, and a conclusion, which is just common knowledge. Maybe for a real beginner, it’s useful, but if you already know SEO, you don’t need that advice since it is common knowledge for SEO.
The only thing that I liked about the live assistant was the free image; it was nice to get an image for free that already has an altext with your focus keyword. You can also insert some part of Wikipedia or other blogs as a source for your article, which is also nice.

Another feature that Squirrly SEO has compared to its competitors is its tracking of SEO results; it constantly tracks your improvement the moment you use Squirrly SEO.
It will give you an update like your keywords rank in the top 2 results on Google, your site traffic increases, time on the page increases, and more. This kind of feature will give you some motivation to continue on your journey as your effort has paid off.
Google SERP Checker
This feature is one of my favorites since I always track the exact position of my articles; your ranking might differ based on a certain location. Usually, I track my article ranking using a VPN; I change location and search for the keyword that my article is ranking. It’s an accurate process, but it takes much effort to change location after location using a VPN.

It will show you duplicate meta descriptions, duplicate titles, and other errors on your site; it will also give you some pro tips on how to fix those kinds of errors, which is useful.
